The Light of Love Public Welfare Development Center is located in Nanjing, China. It is dedicated to the development of rural education and community public welfare. 

On the occasion of May Day, we held an activity aiming to create a better community. The activity was composed by 2 parts: 1) Clean house for the aged who are willing to clean, and the waste materials can be exchanged to other articles. 2) Inhabitants can take wasted materials to exchange pot plant. The volunteers will sell the wasted materials collected from the community and donate the money to the poor students. 

Granny Zhang is our client of aid. When she heard about our activity, she asked our volunteers to take wasted newspaper and wine bottles from her house. When we gave her pot plant, she refused and wanted to leave it to the other people.

A woman accompanied her mother for a walk. When she knew the activity, she called her family and asked the family to take wasted materials for the exchange.

Volunteers helped the garbage collector to sort after the activity. Needless to say, each plastic bottle condensed the effort of the volunteers and smiles of the aged. The activity gave us great encouragement.

Du’an Loving Public Welfare Association is from Du’an,Guanxi province of China. Its work involves education support, poverty alleviation, environmental protection, and left-behind children. 

On May 31, volunteers and loving people from the society visited Du’an Yao Autonomous County. They spent Children’s Day with about 80 students, bringing toys, stationeries, sports goods, food and milk to the children. Teacher Pan, a local teacher, said he had not seen such activity with the children for 6 years, so they were moved.

Loving Public Welfare Association of Anding District，Dingxi City of Gansu Province is consisted of teachers and students from universities, which is engaged in helping vulnerable groups by means of voluntary services. 

Visiting the people we sponsor has always been an important job at the Association. On the one hand we contact people and organizations who are willing to donate money, and on the other hand, we visit potential clients. In recent years, we have visited thousands of poverty-stricken students, covering 10 provinces and cities around Gansu and Ningxia. 

On May 15th, 2013, volunteers visited Gejiacha Primary School in Anding District and distributed gifts to the students. Later, they visited more people we sponsor. Their goal is to visit all of the 500 people that we sponsor.

The nonprofit "Light of Love", is a volunteer group established in 2008 by students in China Pharmaceutical University, Nanjing of China. The group aims to develop health education in rural areas in Western China to teach people to safely use medicine. 

May 4th is a festival for the youth. To create a meaningful festival, Light of Love hosted a party for senior citizens.  

Our Video Generation Show brought the old people back to the 1950s and 60s, an era full of passion, in order to call up their sweet memories. We also performed music, songs and poetry readings- traveling back through the dreams of their youth.

They were so happy it was like they were flying. The relationship between the old and the young is a social problem. But young volunteers learned some valuable lessons in this activity. Young people need old people’s intelligence and old people need young people’s passion. There may be a gap between the young and the old, but they can still can be good friends in spite of their age.

The Lanzhou Greenland Volunteer Center advocates being “green” ecologically and promotes social welfare through their green efforts. This article is about an event that the center held recently.

On May 20, 2013, we held an activity on garbage sorting at the Xiaxiyuan Primary School. About 200 primary students from 4 classes participated in the activity. Xiaxiyuan Primary School has many Muslim students and garbage classification is still new for them. They watched a PPT and videos and then they learned to classify a cigarette box into 3 kinds of garbage: plastic film, metal seal bar and paper.

As a non-governmental organization, Jiaozuo Financial Aid Association takes “building a loving platform for the development of teenager” as its mission. It is in Jiaozuo, Henan. 

Due to a shortage of funding and human resources, it’s difficult for Jiaozuo Education Aid Association to step up to a new level. But in 2012, we heard about TFish and sent them our application. With the help of the TFish staff, our budget was accepted and we received 2994RMB in 2013. 

The development of our organization requires full-time staff to maintain the operation of our project. Therefore, the salary of our staff soon became another stumbling block in the development of our organization.

Our president contacted TFish again and presented our organization’s development plan and ideas. We then applied to the fund for more money. Unexpectedly, the foundation in the USA approved our plan in a week. The Association finally had its first staff meeting on May 10, 2013.

TFish showed us great support in our development, which in turn has greatly promoted the growth of our grass roots NGO in these aspects: 1) our finances became more transparent; 2) the salary of our staff has been guaranteed. Our organization will undoubtedly be a model in our society of an acceptable salary for full-time staff. 

We hope the idea of TFish will be accepted by more organizations and people and we hope TFish continues to develop and expand!

The Jingjieniao Home provides services for the mentally handicapped from poverty-stricken families. The organization is dedicated to improving their spirit and living standards and advocating for every disabled individual to have adequate access to social resources

Today at the Jingjieniao Home, the life skill lesson was about washing clothes. In the pictures you can see how our teacher explained clothes washing to the children. Thy were surprised to learn that many people in foreign countries use a washing machine and know little about washing with their hands.

Iseek Cultural Center is a public welfare organization initiated by patients with PAH (pulmonary artery hypertension), which aims to provide support and service for people with invisible disabilities as PAH.

People who see Zhang Xiaohua’s photo can not help but say, “Why are her lips and fingers so purple”?

Zhang Xiaohua is a PAH patient. She had not received any standard treatment, because her family is poor and she has a father who is sick in bed. At the end of 2012, her condition became worse. She had serious shortness of breath and often fainted, both signs of heart failure.

Fortunately, starting in February Zhang Xiaohua began to accept targeted treatment, taking 6534 RMB of medicine every month with the help of loving people. Part of her medicine was donated by Iseek.

On May 5th, Zhang Xiaohua participated in World PAH Day activities and she met the delegation of donors who had donated 40,000 RMB for her.

An oxygen generator supplier provided an oxygen generator for us at the meeting. The supplier also decided to donate an oxygen generator and a pulse oximeter to Zhang Xiaohua.

Jing Jie Bird Homes held activities for World Autism Day on April 2nd.  On 4/21/2013, autistic children performed at the TianLun Dynasty Hotel and to show their appreciation for generous donor support.

On April 2nd, our volunteers accompanied autistic children from Jing Jie Bird Homes to participate in the Blue Ribbon Care for Autism program.  Together, they marched to the main street to kick off the Blue Ribbon Care program.  The core message is: not to exclude, not to discriminate but to care for children with autism.  The purpose of this activity was to motivate our community to learn more about autism, understand and accept children with autism, promote and improve education for autistic children and improve their living conditions.

My experience volunteer teaching over the past year has left me with a lot of memories. During the whole process, I was moved around a lot. For more than 20 days, volunteer teachers from all over the country worked together and got along well with each other.
