ACR: Update November 2016

11/22/2016

Adonai Child Rehabilitation is a Christian faith-based ministry in Kalaymyo, Myanmar that was established in May 2016. This ministry creates a place of rehabilitation for children and teenagers from various backgrounds like orphans, unwanted children, street children, and poor children.

First of all, we thank God for leading us into the month of November, in spite of many challenges. Our God fills us with joy in our Adonai family because He is with us. We also appreciate all our prayer partners and donors for their faithful commitment to help in prayer and sowing seeds to help the little orphans physically and spiritually. May the Lord continue to bless TFish, which is led by sister Nancy and her team members.

Hospitalization

October and November have been tough months for us because two orphans, Mr. Thla Hnin and Miss. Dawt Rem Chin, have been seriously sick. Their sickness was quite different, with no fever at all. They didn't play like the other orphans, and they didn't move actively. Eventually they developed problems walking. We suspected something might be wrong and brought them to the doctor for a checkup. They underwent blood tests, urine tests, ECGs, and scans. It was determined that they had symptoms of the nervous system.

We admitted Thla Hnin to the hospital, even though we didn't have sufficient money. He was worse than Miss. Dawt, so that is why we admitted him only. Specialist Dr. Nu Nu Htwe asked about the orphans, and we explained to her about them. She felt pity and said, "Don't worry, even if you don't have enough money. I will find a way to treat him for free ." We were so happy, God answered our prayer!
Mr. Thla was in the hospital for two weeks, but everything was free. Praise the Lord. If it weren't free, we would have had to pay the equivalent of $200. God moved the heart of a Buddhist doctor. Now Mr. Thla is totally recovered,  and he can walk and jump.

Yesterday, Miss. Dawt was admitted to the hospital because she has been getting worse. We don't know if the doctor will help with the financial situation or not. We cannot expect that the doctor will help again. But we trust God will do the best for her. We covet prayer support from everyone so that she will be recovered soon and continue with school.

Orphans Need Winter Clothes

Picture
In Myanmar from November to February is the winter season. In the morning and night time it is very cold. The orphans live in a very temporary bamboo house, so they suffer from the cold in the morning and night. They are in need of warm clothes, socks, shoes, and warm hats. We are praying to God for the winter clothes for the orphans. We expect God will move the hearts of His people to purchase the warm clothes.

Education Achievement

Praise the Lord our orphans made good grades on their mid-year exams. They have improved from the previous months. Among our orphans, Thla Hnin is the one who struggles the most. But Mrs. Rev. Thang is spending time to teach him separately, and now he has greatly improved and gotten a B grade. And one volunteer teacher, Sister Hno Te, who is a university student, helps us teach our orphans every weekend. We do appreciate her giving free tutoring to our orphans.

Spiritual Life Growth

Picture
The Bible is the core value and mandate of our orphanage's foundation. We teach the orphans that everything they do, they do it for the glory of God; whether it's eating, drinking, or whatever, it should be for the Lord.

Morning devotions and evening worship are done  regularly with prayer, singing praises, Bible lessons, Bible recitation, and telling some good stories.
On Sunday the orphans all go to children's church and have fellowship with all the other children in the church. They present songs, skits, and action songs in front of the congregation. Now they are rich in their knowledge of Bible stories. They can pray, and they have courage to perform in front of people. Now they all understand that life without Jesus is meaningless. They have in their mind that one day they will be good helpers to many, and become good Christians who bring glory to God.

Miracles of Bananas

On the 20th of November, a man and two women from Sailo village came to our orphanage by motorbike. They were farmers who brought a huge sack full of their own bananas to give to our orphans. It was amazing. These people knew that we were caring for and helping the orphans, and they wanted to provide their sweet bananas to our little orphans. They said, "This is what we can do to help the orphans and be a blessing."  Bananas are very costly here. If the farmers had sold them, they would be worth $40. All of our orphans enjoyed the bananas. We all praise God for His wonderful love and ask His blessings for the banana givers.

God Provides Guitar

Picture
Worship with the new guitar
We have been asking the Lord for a simple guitar for devotion and worship. God provided for us after three months of prayer. Rev. Thang visited his people in America during the last couple of weeks, and he met with a Vietnamese man of God in Virginia whose name is Ken Tran. Brother Ken donated to Rev. Thang to use it for whatever need there was to meet. Rev. Thang felt this was God's answer to what they had prayed for in getting a guitar. So we purchased it with $120. Now we all are so happy and thankful to Brother Ken. We keep praying for Ken's family, job, and ministry.

Thanks to Private Donors

We have two private donors. One is Ms. Adar from Melbourne, Australia, and another one is Mr. Simeon from Midland, Texas in the USA. We really appreciate their love to support the orphans. Sister Adar helped with the equivalent of $72 USD, and brother Simeon helped with $50 USD for the month of November. We always mention them in our prayers. We are so thankful for their love, prayer, and support.

$100 Needed for Christmas Picnic

We the Adonai family plan to have a Christmas picnic at Yazagyo Dam, which is a one-hour drive away. We need $100 for the budget. We are praying for the budget now, hoping God will provide in time. We do not have it yet, but we believe God will arrange it.

Thanks to All

We know that there are many people who pray for us from far and near.  We express our heartfelt gratitude to all who love our orphans and help them in many ways. We will continue to pray for you all. We are sure that God will richly reward you abundantly and exceedingly. God bless you all.
