Surgery in 2013
In July 2013, Lulu underwent heart surgery with help from Little Red Scarf. Unfortunately, her father passed away due to diabetes complications 3 months after her operation, which brought a lot of pain to the family. Her grandmother is 71 and has to take care of 3 children. Her mother has to work in a factory in Lanzhou.
Summer Camp and Support in 2016
Lulu helps with some fieldwork during the weekends. She also takes care of her brother and sister.
Lulu's dream is to be a writer. During the drawing activity at our summer camp, she drew her future self—a girl with a big smile. We believe she will fulfill her dream.
Lulu is in grade 9, and she tries her best to help her family. We provided 1950 RMB ($300 USD) to help subsidize her tuition. Lulu is very thankful. We believe her dream will one day come true.
