Hu Feiye, a strong girl, adopted by loving parents, suffers from a disease that brings hardship to her family. Little Red Scarf comes to the rescue to help the family and child, hoping to restore her back to a normal life.
Hu Feiye is a girl of the Hui nationality. Her family had consisted of five people, many of whom were stricken by deadly disease. When her aunt was in grade five, Feiye's grandfather had just passed away from cerebral hemorrhage in January this year. Fei's grandmother had also been suffering from chronic gastritis for years. Fei's father said it was a pity in his life that he couldn't see his father one last time.
Hu Feiye's parents first met through a matchmaker and were married. The couple loved each other, and have been married for eight years. However, they were disappointed that they were not able to conceive a child. This became a very heavy subject in the family household. However, one year ago, hope began to shine through. The Hu family were told by a relative that a child was to be abandoned, and asked the couple whether they would like to adopt the child. The decision was discussed amongst the family and they made the choice to adopt the child.
While waiting for the child to be born, her parents found work in Tibet. When Hu Feiye was finally born, they took her home. After five months, Hu Feiye started to become ill with a cold. Her parents had also taken notice that she was developing more slowly than her peers, and attributed the problem to plateau hypoxia. However, their assumptions were quickly dismissed by another cold, showing signs of Congenital Heart Disease.
The disease brought much agony to the family. They began to question why it happened, and hope that the disease could be a joke. However, they received an accurate report from the hospital of their hometown in Gansu Province, proving that the disease was true. Hu Feiye's father borrowed money from their relatives and friends in the village in order to bring his daughter to the doctor. They also inquired about multiple charity organizations, and with the help of their relatives, they met a family that had once been helped by Little Red Scarf. In the Lanzhou First Hospital, Feiye's parents were able to find hope in The Little Red Scarf Union, the organization that would bring then hope so that one day their child could live as a normal person.
