Help Dong Sheng’s family get the healthcare they need so they can work more effectively.
Smooth Recovery from Surgery
Dong Sheng had surgery in 2012. He has recovered well, and his scars have healed well too. This young boy has a pleasant personality, but his parents have health problems, which limits their ability to work.
Parents’ Health Needs
Dong Sheng’s 48-year-old father suffers from chronic headaches and dizziness. His 37-year-old mother suffers from gallstones. The family can’t afford surgery, so his mother has to take pain killers.
Working Older Sister
Dong Sheng’s older sister is 18. She dropped out of school as an elementary student. She currently works in a restaurant in Yinchuan and sends home about $800 each year.
The family has about 4 acres of fields, which they plant with wheat, rapeseed, corn, and fruit. This is the main source of income of the family, bringing in about $800 a year.
During the off season, Dong Sheng’s father works in a construction site and earns about $12 a day. His mother picks fruit in the village and earns about $11 a day.
The family still owes about $6000 in debt. Life has become very difficult for them. Dong Sheng’s father hopes Dong Shen can have better teeth, that he and his wife can be in good health, and that they can pay off the debts.
Will you help Dong Sheng’s family get the healthcare they need so they can work more effectively?
