Mingda School pays attention to rural education in northwest of China, in particular English education. The School provides a relaxing and healthy education environment for the left-behind children living in rural areas.
Though I am in Chengdu, my heart remains in Yaobazhuang—our first public English education site.
I got a phone call from the volunteers last night. There are many children who are from primary schools and senior high schools waiting for the enrollment. Already, there are over 80 registered students. I became excited thinking about just how many students would be able to receive education this winter.
I thank Mr. Liu from Beijing who donated desks and chairs to the school. Many thanks to TFish Fund, which provided 3000 RMB towards the library construction in the village. The children did not have desks, chairs, or books, but now they have access to all of these crucial items for learning. I also thank all the volunteers who offered English learning materials.
These children are unfortunate on the one hand, but they are lucky on the other. Their families are as poor as most other families in this area, but they are lucky because so many loving people care about them. Many people not only provides help to them, but they work to clean obstacles in their way so that they would be able to grow up well. I hope that they will take this as motivation to connect more with the outside world, learn more, expand their vision, and fly out their dreams.
