What do people gain from all their labors at which they toil under the sun?
For many hard-working peasants in rural Gansu, they gain barely enough to take care of their families. If someone needs medical care, it's often more than they can afford.
This Labor Day will you join us to help more families in East Asia that suffer from poverty and disease? For $300 you can support a family like Baoping's, pictured above.
2016 Fundraising Goal: $150,000
Many thanks to all of you who have already donated this year!
Here's our progress as of August 31st.
Little Red Scarf Summer Camp
This year's week-long summer camp in Gansu was our best ever! Our post-surgery children got to have fun while learning important life lessons.
Highlight activities included hiking a mountain (which proved their successful recovery from congenital heart disease), free checkups at a hospital, arts and crafts, games and skits, and team building exercises. Discover why our campers said it was an unforgettable experience!
Local Summer Camp Volunteers
Also new for this year's summer camp was inviting several former campers to return as volunteers. They have caught our spirit of philanthropy, giving back to others!
Xiao Wen and Lulu are beneficiaries of our LRS surgery program. They have persevered through poverty, heart disease, and the loss of family members. Their leadership at camp showed our younger post-surgery patients how hopes can be fulfilled.
