The mission statement of VCRM is to restore and renew hope to Vietnamese individuals and families suffering from drug addictions and other destructive lifestyles through the proclamation of the Gospel and the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
Come over to Macedonia to help us!
The story is recorded in Acts 16:1-5, the Apostle Paul and Silas planned to go to the regions of Phrygia, Galatia, Bithynia to spread the good news of salvation in the Lord Jesus, but when they came up to Mysia and were just about to enter Bithynia, “… the Holy Spirit did not allow them. So, they went down to Troas. And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”
As each of us follows Christ in our lives, perhaps once we heard the voice of the Lord telling us to do something for His name, for His church, for God’s Kingdom. For the brethren in Restoration Ministry, their “Macedonian” call is to go to the young people in bondage to drugs, cocaine, gangs… that no one else can help deliver from the grips of prison and sin except by the power of the saving gospel of the Lord Jesus alone. They have heard the call of the Holy Spirit and responded to the call, to bring the good news to those desperately pleading “Come to the prison camps to help us.”
Story is told of a woman with a damaged eye who had an artificial eye made for her. After she put on the artificial eye, she asked a colleague at work: “Do you know which one is the artificial eye I just put on? “ The friend quickly gave a correct reply. She asked how he knew so well. He said, “Because the artificial eye has no life in it, the eye the Lord created has life in it.”
We have life and life abundant that the Lord Jesus has given to us. Those held in prisons and drug rehab centres… are comparable to the artificial eye, being there but without real life in it. Real life and meaningful life is life completely owned by the Lord Jesus. Please join the brethren in the Restoration Ministry to come “to Macedonia to help them.”
So blessed, dear friends!
With all my heart’s desire,
