Volunteer Association of Tai’an City, Shandong Province was established in 2009, consisting of people from various sectors and university students. It is a non-profit social organization which aims to provide voluntary services to the society.
Total of 9 activities were organized in April 2013, including 2 events for caring of the elderly, student grants totaled $3,750 Yuan to those who are less fortunate and in poverty, and six other activities.
April 4, 2013, Tai’an public welfare volunteers cleaned up martyrs cemetery. Their sacrifice inspired us and as result of their sacrifice we care able to live in peace with freedom today. This event is a way of showing our appreciation and respect. We want to carry on the heritage of defending the dignity of our country.
April 4, 2013, Tai’an public welfare volunteers set up information kiosk to provide services to tourists during the 3-day Ching Ming Festival holiday. Mountain Tai is one of the 5 most famous mountains in China and is a very popular tourist destination. Tai’an is right next to Mountain Tai. Our services helped tourists with the information and convenience they need and hopefully their visit is a pleasant, memorable experience.
April 6, 2013, Tai'an public welfare volunteers came to a small mountain village to issue scholarship to kids in poverty. Hope our contributions can be a blessing to those who are less fortunate.
April 8, 2013, Tai'an public welfare volunteers accompanied the elderly to visit a large pear farm on rolling hills. Spring weather is really very pleasant and pear blossoms are in full bloom. We strolled along the winding trails, enjoyed the beautiful scenery and touched by the loving care among us.
April 20, 2013, Tai'an public welfare volunteers held activities for the elderly in nursing homes. The elderly are the ones who established the society we live in today. Taking care of the elderly is our responsibility. Wish all the elderly a happy, healthy, long life.
April 20, 2013, Tai'an public welfare volunteers participated in a public welfare promotional campaign organized by Mountain Tai District Civil Services. Use love and care to motivate our dream, our friendship, and leading to a bright future. Instill positive energy to our society and create a better China.
April 20, 2013 8:00 am, a 7.0 earthquake hit Ya'an City, Sichuan Province. As soon as Tai'an public welfare volunteers learned of the disaster situation, immediately started fund raising activity which resulted in 500 pairs of shoes. Volunteers delivered these shoes to local red cross and hoped soon they will reach the earthquake victims.
April 21, 2013, Tai'an public welfare volunteers went to Angle Valley for grants distribution activities. This activity made us appreciate more for what we have and not to take things for granted. Appreciate everyone who crossed over in our lives, warm up everyone’s heart with loving care.
