Jiayan has operated 3 online shops from home
Xi'an Alliance works to promote a spirit of volunteerism. Many student volunteers are trained to participate in public welfare activities and social work.
Wind was blowing hard that cold winter morning, but our hearts were warmed by the power of love. On the morning of December 26, 2012, with rice, flour, oil, and fruits in hand, nine-member volunteer group from Xi’an Public Welfare Alliance went to visit Jiayan, an inspirational disabled man. He lived in an old building. When the door opened, Jiayan and his father were waiting for us. After we introduced ourselves to them, we listened to their stories, which moved us tremendously.
Miracles are created by his left foot
Jiayan invited us to visit his office where he presented us his proficient typing with his left foot. He even used his foot to organize volunteer activities online. Then we sang and played games together. We spent a happy day with Jiayan.
Who can imagine that an owner of three online shops is a severe cerebral palsy patient? Who can imagine that it is he who provided great support for our work with relief, poverty alleviation, and education? Jiayan is an unusual person. He is a genius and a miracle. We saw positive energy from him. He is the beholder of an inspiring spirit, volunteerism, and unselfish dedication. Let’s learn from him.
