Xi’an Alliance works to promote a spirit of volunteerism. Many student volunteers are trained to participate in public welfare activities and social work. The main office is in Xi’an, China.
There’s a group of person who is always on call and always come whenever they would be needed.
I dreamt to be a volunteer when I was I child. I was even dreamed to teach in the remote areas. Coincidently I attended voluntary activity on Mid-Autumn Festival. I experienced to be a volunteer finally. I had thought every one now can eat full 3 meals a day though we are not rich. The actually situation surprised. A volunteer with about 10 years’ experience told me an old granny had nearly been starved to death though she had 3 sons. That’s terrible to me. Her sons were devils.
I also got to know some old persons over 70 had to pick up trashes to feed their grandsons and the whole family. It’s not easy to raise children. What makes the children to abandon their parents. I thought a lot when I visited a family. I had too much happiness compared to many persons. It’s my first time to join voluntary activity. Some people even said we were cheaters. Some of them even refused us. I was frustrated. Some volunteers had been doing their services for over 10 years and they met various situations. They did not give up anyway. When we left a family, the grandparents of the family said we were kind and nice. The grandmother even bowed to us. I was moved and I will participate in such activities in the future.
