Program: D-Rev
Brilliance:
D-Rev’s Newborn Health program, ensures that babies get a healthy start in life. Brilliance is an affordable phototherapy device to treat severely jaundiced babies; it launched in late 2012. Brilliance retails at $400 in India, $500 internationally – compared to traditional phototherapy devices that cost over $3,000. Brilliance is robustly designed for minimal maintenance and servicing, and each device tracks its usage so we are able to estimate impact. ReMotion Knee:

Description:
D-Rev exists to design and deliver disruptive medical technologies that close the quality healthcare gap for underserved populations. We are a nonprofit medical device company that focuses on health needs that disproportionately affect the poor. Our products are designed for referral hospitals and clinics in low-income countries, where diligent doctors do not have access to the context-appropriate tools they need to provide treatment and save lives. By selling our products with margins built in for manufacturing, distribution and sales we are able to scale our products sustainably. Our products in turn prompt greater competition in their markets, resulting in greater choice and quality for patients – and the reduction of serious health conditions. To achieve organizational proof-of-concept, we have focused on two health problems, newborn health and mobility. While the products have different paths to scale, they share the same model of quality, user-centric products creating global impact via the market. Our products are now in use in 60 countries, almost all low- and middle-income, and are on track to treat over 1M people by 2020.
