Welcome to D-Starine
|
Child sponsorship programs; rescue volunteer training programs. Fundraising for herding and protection work dogs for impoverished Tibetan families.
D-Starine, managed by Yi Yuan trains city volunteers to serve as rescue, disaster relief and community reconstruction programs. D-Starine is committed to promoting communication and interaction between urban youth and various cultural and ethnic groups from all over the world. Currently, D-Starine provides services mainly in Tibet and Qinghai, because most people in these areas are Tibetan nomads, who face outdated healthcare systems, poor education and a slow economy. Most families own nothing except for a tent. D-Starine encourages city volunteers to serve people in these areas by organizing expeditions to them. D-Starine also promotes public welfare through speeches in universities, as well as its programs, like its “Public Welfare Awareness” program, which seeks to inspire people to join public welfare activities. Over the next 5 years, D-Starine will be setting up 5+ "perfect community" project sites in Yushu of Qinghai, Garze of Sichuan, Sust of Pakistan, Xinjiang and Japan. The projects that will be carried out in those sites include: 1) Children Sponsorship Program, 2) Olympic Games for Kids, 3) “Yak Bank” Petty Loan, 4) Family Barrow Program, 5) Container Community center, 6) Local Social Enterprises Program, 7) “ArK Project”Medicaid Tour Program, 8) “Family Hotel” Community, 9) Pasturing Area and Wild Animal Safety Program, 10) Photography Teaching for Tibetan children. D-Starine raises funds separately for its programs to ensure that 100% of donations are used for programs, while overhead and operational costs are separately funded through an Administration Fund. Donations are currently being used for a working dogs program in which D-Starine purchases pedigreed shepherding dogs to send to Tibetan herdsmen in return for signed agreements. Shepherding dogs typically increase pasturing efficiency and give birth to approximately six pups a year, which provides supplementary income for families that receive the dogs. If the family cannot find buys, D-Starine will repurchase the dogs to gift to other herdsman.Shepherding dogs have also proven useful for improving children's mental health in Qinghai and Tibet, and has boosted D-Starine's credibility and relationships with the herdsmen. |
