Dandelion Volunteer Teaching Center: Visit Voluntary Teaching Sites

5/24/2013

The Guizhou Dandelion Volunteer Teaching Center provides a professional platform for public welfare, attracting greater resources to poverty-stricken areas, improving education, and allowing more children from rural areas to receive care.

In April, our visits to volunteer teaching sites are ongoing.  We hope all the children are healthy and growing. The following pictures show our visits:

Dandelion Volunteer Teaching Center: On the Way to Home Visiting

3/19/2013

The Guizhou Dandelion Volunteer Teaching Center provides a professional platform for public welfare, attracting greater resources to poverty-stricken areas, improving education, and allowing more children from rural areas to receive care.

On the first weekend of a new semester, our teaching volunteers started their home visiting activity. They visited children’s families. Seeing the environment that the children grow up, they sensed responsibilities on them.

Walking on the same road that the children walk to and from school every day, the teachers knew where the students come from and what the situation of the road. They learned the importance of the care and encouragement that they give to the students every day.

Dandelion Volunteer Teaching Camp: A Better Tomorrow

1/30/2013

Guizhou Dandelion Volunteer Teaching Center aims to set up an improved and more professional platform for public welfare, attracting more resources to poverty-stricken areas, improving education, and taking care of more children from rural areas.

With a simple dream, I came to Dagai primary school in September of 2012. The school had only three grades with two teachers and another volunteer teacher. I received warm welcome from the students, who greeted me with an enthusiastic “Hello teacher!"

As a teacher, I needed to visit the students and get to know more about their families and villages so that I would be able to teach them in accordance with their aptitude. The village we planned on visiting was Rongna, which was said to be far away and without road. There was only a small path with pebbles and weeds. The path stretched around a big mountain and it would take at least two hours to walk it.

Guizhou Dandelion Volunteer Teaching Center: Happy New Year

1/24/2013

The Guizhou Dandelion Volunteer Teaching Center provides a professional platform for public welfare, attracting greater resources to poverty-stricken areas, improving education, and allowing more children from rural areas to receive care.

Despite the cold winter days, love is gathering. The Center organized 15 volunteers and 13 volunteer teachers to spend the last few days of 2012 with 170 children. We hope our actions will bring love and warmth to the children who are hoping for a better 2013.
