Grant Results: January-July, 2016We were able to buy end of the year prizes for all of our students and host a party to celebrate the end of the school year. Over the summer, we are hosting various enrichment activities for students, including baking, playing at the park, and visiting the zoo. End of the School Year PartyWe hosted our annual end-of-the-school-year party in June for students and volunteers. The party included outdoor games, water balloons, photo frame signing, and prizes for students. As usual, it was a lot of fun. We are proud of our students and volunteers for finishing another successful school year! Career Aspirations
O’Keefe Family Center Tutoring Program successfully completed the 2014-2015 school year with tutoring on two evenings and Bible Club on one evening per week, as usual. This year, several students who have been with the program for the entirety of their elementary school years have graduated to middle school. At the same time, several first grade students began coming to receive tutoring. O’Keefe also recruited several new tutors for the 2015-2016 school year in efforts to keep the student:tutor ratio low and ensure that each student who comes receives adequate individual attention.
In the spirit of giving, our board members cooked a homemade Christmas Dinner for over 100 families and children in East Palo Alto from Bayshore Christian Ministries Bible study program and O'Keefe tutoring program. We wouldn't have been able to do it without our wonderful volunteers.
