12/9/2013

As a non-governmental organization, Jiaozuo Education Aid Association takes “building a loving platform for the development of teenager” as its mission. It is in Jiaozuo, Henan.

In the afternoon of November 3, 2013, Jiaozuo Education Aid Association held the 3rd annual "protecting children from sexual assault" event.

The activity was held from 2:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon. The location was the commercial center of Jiaozuo City. Wearing red vests and caps, the volunteers walked through the crowd and explained to people the purpose of the event. They also collected signatures and distributed leaflets. They had been working and planning the activity for a long time. The signatures were gathered on note paper, which can be recycled and thus helps the environment. In the end, the volunteers received a lot of positive feedback from the community.

In 3 hours, about 2000 leaflets were distributed and over 600 signatures were collected. Hundreds of people gathered to listen to the speeches of the volunteers. The activity was welcomed and praised by most of the passersby. One of mothers watching even asked her child to participate in the activity and act as a volunteer.

The activity improved awareness of child protection from sexual assault in the community. We hope that this activity can save a child and protect the happiness of a family. Our volunteers are happy to do their part to contribute to social responsibility.

Jiaozuo Education Aid Association: For Dreams of Children

7/11/2013

As a non-governmental organization, Jiaozuo Education Aid Association takes “building a loving platform for the development of teenager” as its mission. It is in Jiaozuo, Henan.

At 8:00 in the morning, June 24, volunteers from our association, 2 reporters from Orient Today and a supplier of basketball stands went to Dongchangcun Primary School, bringing basketball stands to the children.

After a 1 hour long ride, they arrived at the school. The schoolmaster and teachers gave them a warm welcome. The basketball stand was moved to the playground of school. The playground is simple with no sports equipment. The volunteers discussed how to arrange the basketball stands.

Installation of the basketball stands needs sand and lime to build the base. Teachers borrowed an electro-tricycle and bought materials together with a volunteer. Then they were busy building the base. Qianqian, a volunteer, bought bottled water for all the people and Xiao Ci was busy taking pictures. It’s hot, and Dongzi, one of the volunteers, got his clothes all wet. The base needed to be dried for 3 to 4 days before the installation. The supplier explained the precautions of installation to the PE teachers.

As they were leaving, the schoolmaster gave the volunteers presents to express their gratitude, but the volunteers declined with thanks. The bell rang and students went out to the playground. Seeing the new basketball stands, they were so happy.

We hope the extracurricular life of the students has became more colorful.

Jiaozuo Education Aid Association: Thank TFish

6/15/2013

As a non-governmental organization, Jiaozuo Financial Aid Association takes “building a loving platform for the development of teenager” as its mission. It is in Jiaozuo, Henan.

Due to a shortage of funding and human resources, it’s difficult for Jiaozuo Education Aid Association to step up to a new level. But in 2012, we heard about TFish and sent them our application. With the help of the TFish staff, our budget was accepted and we received 2994RMB in 2013.

The development of our organization requires full-time staff to maintain the operation of our project. Therefore, the salary of our staff soon became another stumbling block in the development of our organization.

Our president contacted TFish again and presented our organization’s development plan and ideas. We then applied to the fund for more money. Unexpectedly, the foundation in the USA approved our plan in a week. The Association finally had its first staff meeting on May 10, 2013.

TFish showed us great support in our development, which in turn has greatly promoted the growth of our grass roots NGO in these aspects: 1) our finances became more transparent; 2) the salary of our staff has been guaranteed. Our organization will undoubtedly be a model in our society of an acceptable salary for full-time staff.

We hope the idea of TFish will be accepted by more organizations and people and we hope TFish continues to develop and expand!
