ACR: Update September 2016

9/22/2016

Adonai Child Rehabilitation is a Christian faith-based ministry in Kalaymyo, Myanmar that was established in May 2016. This ministry creates a place of rehabilitation for children and teenagers from various backgrounds like orphans, unwanted children, street children, and poor children.

We give glory to the Lord who enables us to move forward. We tasted the goodness of the Lord in spite of challenges and hindrances. All is going well by the grace of God, through the prayer support of TFish and all of our other prayer partners around the world.

Nutrition: Weekly Menu Includes Meat

Day of the Week
Meal
Sunday
Beef (for lunch and dinner)
Monday
Potatoes
Tuesday
Tomatoes and Fried Eggs
Wednesday
Chicken (for lunch and dinner)
Thursday
Beans and Cabbage
Friday
Fish (for lunch and dinner)
Saturday
Cauliflower and Brinjal
Thanks to our supporters, our orphans can enjoy meals with very tasty fried meat. Because of the good nutrition, all our orphans have become stronger and their complexions have improved.

We provide meat 3 days a week, on Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday.

For a normal farmer's family, it is not easy to eat meat because it is very expensive. The price per 1 kg of meat is $9, which is very expensive. A farmer can only earn $5 a day for his labor.

Spiritual Growth: No More Stealing

Thank God all our orphans have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. They pray with deep heart and with tears. Now they can sing 10 songs from memory. During every evening devotion, my wife and I teach them about the life of Jesus and His teachings. They are very eager for our prayer and praise time every evening from 6:00-6:30.

At the beginning, some of our orphans used to pick up some pencils from school which were forgotten and left behind by other students. I checked the orphans when they came home from school every day and found some extra pencils and pens which weren't theirs. I asked them, "Whose are they?" And they said, "I found them at school." I taught them to not pick up those forgotten pens or pencils or other items because it is stealing from others. I told them to just leave them or take them to the teacher to make an announcement. The orphans now understand that taking other people's lost things is stealing and is a sin, and they no longer take items from the school campus.

Teamwork and Cleaning

Folding clothes
Every morning and evening we teach the orphans about teamwork and working together with friends. Therefore, they help with house chores and cleaning tasks. Some sweep and polish the floor, some clean the toilet, some wash utensils, and some collect firewood. Because of the rain, the firewood got wet, so it needed to be dried under the sun. Now that they are used to the routine, we do not need to tell them what to do now; they all know what to do. They know their room must be clean and that their clothes must be folded and kept nicely.

Visit to Kalay University

On Saturday, September 17, 2016 we went on an excursion as an Adonai family. We took a trip to Kalay University, which is 9 miles away from where we live. We had a great purpose for visiting there: to let the orphans know and see what a university looks like and to encourage them to try hard in their education so that one day they would attend this kind of very beautiful university.

When I encouraged them at the university campus, they decided to study hard and get good grades so they could attend this university. They are very excited and eager to be good university students who will one day become doctors, engineers, school  teachers, and officers who will bring glory to God.

Encouragement from South Carolina

We were pleasantly surprised to be contacted unexpectedly by Chin Community Church from South Carolina. They are immigrants from Myanmar and discovered our Facebook page. A chairwoman from the church, Mrs. Par Nawn, called me and asked about our orphan ministry. She said they saw the orphans' pictures on Facebook and are praying for them. We are so honored that God has moved in the hearts of unknown people to pray for our ministry. God encourages us in a wonderful way.

A Big Thanks to Private Donors

Our thanks go to Mrs. Adar from Melbourne for her commitment to help with $72 per month. We prayed for her as she needed God's protection in giving birth to her child. God answered our petition, and she gave birth a very lovely boy.

Secondly, our thanks go to Mr. Simeon who works at an oil company in Midland, Texas. We are lifting up our hands for his job because recently the economic downturn caused problems in their company. God has answered our prayers, and now their company can run properly. God hears the prayer of the poor orphans. Glory to God.
