In Changzhou city, Jiangsu province, with the principles of “serve the society, dedicate love, help others and delight ourselves, Changzhou Volunteers Association actively promotes volunteerism around the city.
Half a month ago, 6 children from a village in Yunnan left their home in the mountains and flew to Changzhou.
They are from the Yi ethnic minority, and this was their first time leaving their homes and taking a plane. Meanwhile, the volunteers had prepared many great activities for them. They created an interactive curriculum and planned tours for every day of the visit. Some community members knew the children were coming, and they gave the children a warm welcome. Though the children were not familiar with life in the city, they experienced something different, and they were thrilled to attend the games and activities.
In 10 days, the children visited the museum, parks, and the zoo. They also had a day to experience family life in Changzhou. The itinerary was full each day. The students obviously valued this experience very much and tried to do as much as possible in one day.
Time flew by and suddenly, it was time to leave.
Farewell, children, we hope you have a bright future.
