In January 2016 we visited Taichung, where Pastor Chinh has a ministry to care for Vietnamese laborers there at the Center for Christianity. We were able to hear stories from people whose lives have been changed because of this ministry. Here are some of their testimonies. New Year, New Life for a Drug AddictOn the first day of the New Year, we met a person who was saved. He was addicted to drugs but when he heard about the love and salvation of Jesus Christ, he accepted God as his Savior. What a meaningful gift in the new year (2 Corinthians 5:17). We prayed for him that God will help him every day to overcome all the hardness and trials he has been facing. Fellowship for Vietnamese BridesWe also were encouraged and happy to hear that some of the Vietnamese brides can have a place to fellowship and worship God here. They come together to learn, to share their stories, to eat together...just like the first church in Acts. In the sharing time, a woman who had 4 children said: “I’ve been a believer for more than a year. I thank God for the happiness and the peace He brought me. I only pray that God will continue to teach my children to obey and bless our family.” We’re certain that God will hear and answer her humble prayers. She is also a talented cook. She grows all the vegetables and cooks for everyone at church. Avoiding an AbortionHere is a story from another Vietnamese bride. She had 1 son and 1 daughter after she got married, but when she was carrying the 3rd one, her family from the husband’s side wanted her to get an abortion. But because she’s a Christian, she prayed to God to help her keep the baby. Finally, God protected her and she gave birth to a son. The boy now is 2 years old and he is very cute and obedient. The boy loves to pray before eating and he loves to visit Pastor Chinh in the morning because his house is near the facility, so it’s very convenient for the sisters to come and worship God. From the day the boy was born, his grandfather has loved him and the family was filled with happiness. After the sharing time, Pastor Bao used the Word of God to encourage everyone to seek God first in the new year, then God will take care of everything for us (Matthew 6:33). We’re touched by how these people love God with all their hearts, and thank God for all the great things He’s done for His people. Giving ThanksWe especially thank God for Pastor Chinh and his wife because they serve the Lord with all their hearts. God has put them in this city to bring love and salvation to many people. Although they have 3 small children to take care of, they still faithfully take good care of the people that God has given them. This work still needs a lot of helpers and prayers.
We’ve learned a lesson that whenever God is present, there is love. This work is so meaningful because it helps a lot of people who are broken and away from home to receive the joy, the peace and salvation of Jesus Christ. We also thank the TFish Fund to help and support us for this meaningful trip. Comments are closed.
