With the support of TFish, the project aims to support with micro loans to housewives from a poverty-stricken village in Huining county, Gansu province. It will promote income and provide development opportunities to women in the villages
Finally the funds were available on April 27---65420.02 RMB exchanged from 10537 dollars. The funds would be provided to women from 20 households in Lucha village as micro loans for developing traditional livestock. According to the current situation, 2000RMB were loaned to each household to develop sheep raising. With the loan, each household can buy 3 female sheep. Each sheep would give birth to 2 lambs twice in 12 months if they feed the sheep properly. Each lamb can be sold for about 500RMB 3 months after being born. It will be a great number.
Let’s achieve this step by step. We have been thinking to develop some income generation project with more technology. When facing the actual situations, we found women prefer to do sheep raising during needs assessment.
Not long after, some more sheep will appear on the green mountains while women will busy for their field work. In the evening, they will be collecting the sheep from grass land and take them back. Then they will busy to prepare dinner for the family. When it becomes dark, they will be chatting with their children. What a nice scene!
