This Father's Day, consider adopting a family in western China and develop a long-term relationship.
As we celebrate Father’s Day, we honor fathers who embrace their family role and work hard to provide for their children.
A Father’s Heart Loves
We see a father’s love as he demonstrates approval and affirmation of the children he has been entrusted with. We see a father’s heart as he opens his arms to welcome his sons and daughters.
A Father’s Hands Provide
Many of the rural families that we help have fathers who labor in the fields during farming season. During the off season they do construction work, manual labor, and odd jobs to earn more money. Despite all their efforts, oftentimes their income still isn’t sufficient to provide for the family.
A Father’s Head Humbly Bows
Please consider how you can support these humble, hard-working fathers. Our ongoing Adopt a Family program provides an opportunity for you to help these impoverished families. We encourage you to donate $25 toward one of these families, to supplement their labor as they struggle to overcome poverty.
Highlight Story: Da Yong
Da Yong was a 20-year-old in 11th grade, but he had to drop out of school recently because of his critical physical condition. Although he underwent surgery, his heart failed afterwards due to PAH, a disease of the vessels that carry blood from the heart to the lungs. Da Yong has to use a wheelchair and take expensive medicine every day.
Da Yong’s family can’t afford his necessary treatment, and his father takes care of him instead of going out to work, which further reduces their income. As you remember Da Yong’s devoted father this holiday, please think how you can give hope to their family, so that they would be able to provide Da Yong with the healthcare he desperately needs.
We would also like to provide Da Yong with a laptop so he can record stories from his life. He's a great writer but can't go to school. It just takes 23 more people each giving $25 to meet the fundraising goal. Please join us in this effort to bring him hope!
Thank you for your support.
Happy Father’s Day!
