Xiao Yi is a 10-month baby who was born in a county hospital. The doctor was surprised to see her purple face and lips. After diagnosing, she was referred to Pediatrics for breathing oxygen. 7 days later, she was discharged from the hospital. When she went back home, her face showed no purple, but she seemed very weak. She often caught cold and caused pneumonia. She had to go to hospital again when she was 3 months old. Her parents said she often got cold and treatment in hospital was expensive. The obvious symptoms are purple lips when she was crying.
Xiao Yi’s family have 7 people: grandparents, 2 uncles, parents and her elder brother. Her grandparents are over 60 and they could not do manual work. Her 2 uncles are migrant workers in the city. They have not married. There are 5 rooms for the family. The main pillars of the family are her parents. They grow 7 mu fields. They planted some potatoes and wheat. They also planted apples. Her father would work in the city during slack farming season. Her father can earn about 20,000 yuan which used mostly on family expenses, fertilizers and medical treatment. It’s difficult to save any money. The loans became more when the family had to borrow 40,000 yuan for Xiao Yi’s surgery. The burden for the family is big. They were relieved when they met Little Red Scarf.
