Little Red Scarf is in Lanzhou, Gansu province and provides financial support and encouragement to children suffering from congenital heart disease. In addition, they provide families with post-operative care and help the children sustain a healthy lifestyle.
14 patients support by LRS were discharged from hospital sine June 2012. We called the patients after 2 years of operation. Here are some highlights:
Ziahao attended kindergarten and his mother said he is much better now. He has not caught a cold this year and the operation scar is healing well.
Xiao Jing is 6 and started preschool! Her father said she has not caught a cold this year. She runs and jumps and her scar healed better this year.
Fei Hang is 4.5 years old. His father said he has been doing well. He eats well. He can run or jump. The scar healed better this year. He tended to catch colds, 1 or twice a month. The doctor said he would be recovering well.
Xing Dong. Xing Dong is 6 and attends kindergarten. His mother said he healed well though he looks shorter than his contemporaries. He likes playing outside and the scar healed well, too.
Juan Juan is 3 and her father said she was recovering well. She has not caught a cold this year and the scar healed well. She is a little bit shorter.
Lu Hang is 4 and he was recovering well from the operation. He likes running and jumping as a lively child. The doctor said he healed better than the other children. The scar healed well.
Xiao Ming is in Grade 10. He attended PE classes. He grows taller. His scar healed well. His father said he would like to tell more people about our project of supporting female adults.
Hui Hui is 7 and in Grade 2. She is picky about food, so she looks thinner. She grows taller. She has not caught a cold since the operation. The scar healed well. Her father said she can run or jump as a normal child.
Fa Rui is in Grade 3 and he attends PE at school. The doctor said he was healing well. He is picky about food, so he looks thin. He grows taller. He caught colds during winter months.
According to our telephone reviews, 14 patients discharged in June of 2012 recovered well from the operations.
