LRS: Telephone Review 2 Years after Operation

Little Red Scarf is in Lanzhou, Gansu province and provides financial support and encouragement to children suffering from congenital heart disease. In addition, they provide families with post-operative care and help the children sustain a healthy lifestyle. 

13 patients were discharged in March of 2013. We interviewed them with telephone 2 years later. We got to know the latest developments and reminded them for re-examination.

384 Weiye： Weiye is in kindergarten. His grandfather said his parents went for work. He took care of the children. The school is about 2 kilometers away from home. The child is fine, but often caught cold. There’s problem with his legs when he ran, for he accepted hip joint surgery. His wound is recovering well. The family members are fine. 386 Xiao Ru： Xiao Ru’s father answered the call. He said the child attended kindergarten. She recovered well from the surgery. The wound recovered well, too. She seldom caught cold. 1 year after the surgery, the child fell into convulsions. The doctor in Women and Children Health Center diagnosed cerebritis. Now she’s fine. Thank for the care of Little Red Scarf. The family members are fine and the income of the family increased. Her father opened a restaurant in Ningxia. They would pick up the child to live with them in the city.

385 Yanhai： Yanhai is in Grade 7 and his father said he did well at school. He’s getting better. The child went for re-examination once in 6 months and kept taking anticoagulant drugs. He did not attend PE at school. The wound recovered well. He seldom caught cold and ate well. He gained some weights and grew taller. He looks the same as his contemporaries. His father went to city for work, leaving his mother take care of the family. The family members are fine and thank Little Red Scarf’s help. 

383 Honghong： Honghong is in Grade 9 and she did well at school. She seldom caught cold and the wound recovered well. She attends PE classes at school. She ride bicycle to school every day. Every one is fine in the family and there’s no difficult. Thank Little Red Scarf’s care. 

387 Yuemeng： Yuemeng is 6 and attends pre-school class. Her mother gave birth to another girl who is almost 2. Her mother takes good care of 2 girls at home. She does well and attends PE classes at school. Her wound healed well, but she caught cold sometimes. Her father is a taxi driver. Thank Little Red Scarf’s care.

LY-279 Biyan： Biyan has started to work. She said everything is fine. There are some sarcomas growing around the wound and she felt pain when they were rubbing with the clothes. The doctor suggested her to take another minor surgery to remove them. Her father did 2 surgeries and lost his labor ability. Her elder brother has mental illness and had to stay at home. Her younger sister is in Grade 9. Her mother is the only manual worker of the family. Now the family owes 50,000 yuan. 

LY-276 Ruijin： Ruijin is 8 and attends pre-school class. She did not attend PE at school, but she plays with her contemporaries. Her wound recovered well. She often caught cold, about once in 2 months. Ruijin’s mother got gastritis recently and had to stay in hospital for a few days. Her father got serious back problem and could not do manual work. Her grandfather got poor eyesight and cannot see at night. 

LY-283 Jingjing： Jingjing’s father works in Maqu. He said thank to Little Red Scarf when he picked up phone. He said the child recovers well. She did not catch cold after the surgery and the wound healed well. She could run or jump. When they took the child to check in hospital, the doctor said she recovered well. She ate well and gained weights. The family just paid off all debts this year. Everything is fine for the family. 

LY-281 Zeyang： Zeyang is 3 and his grandfather answered the call. The child is fine and seldom caught cold. He is naughty. The wound healed well. He can run or jump. LY-282 Jiayu： Jiayu is in kindergarten and her grandmother takes care of her. She said the child recovered well and seldom got cold. The wound healed well. She can run or jump. She looked good. Her mother works in Lanzhou and every one in the family is fine.
