New Partners and Projects
We're also excited to announce these new projects:
New Project: Water for Schools in Cambodia
Our new partner, 1001Fontaines, will provide clean drinking water for over 24,000 students at 74 schools in Cambodia. This will significantly reduce waterborne diseases and child mortality. As rural children become healthier and better educated, they are more likely to successfully lift their families out of poverty.
New Project: Safe Spaces for Children in Burma
Our new partner, Children on the Edge, will support early childhood development centers for young Kachin children in internally displaced peoples camps. The centers will provide a sense of security and daily activities for these children living in a war zone. This will promote their psychological wellbeing, recovery, and healthy development.
New Project: Social Worker Support in Gansu
We are partnering with Changing Young Lives to support both the Smart Mom program in Hong Kong and the Social Worker Support pilot project in Gansu. Underprivileged moms in Pak Tin Estate will learn skills to improve parent-child relationships. Left-behind ethnic minority students in Dashu, Gansu will benefit from counseling services and tailored extracurricular activities, helping them improve self-confidence and increasing their motivation to learn.
2016 Fundraising Goal: $150,000
