On August 6, 2016, 50 of loving people, parents and other children came to Chen Jia Gou primary school. They brought cares for 32 left-behind children.
Early in the morning, 19 children and their parents and staff gathered at the bus station and set out. The host explained the activity to the participants who were looking forward to arrive at the village. They had to walk a distance to arrive at Chen Jia Gou. With a flag, the children were walking toward Chen Jia Gou in the line. Photographers and staff were busy, especially when they arrived at the primary school.
Volunteers from 029 Public Service came to the site first. Everyone was busy with banners and organizing the site. Wang Jianwei was leading volunteers and children for singing songs. Children were happy. When the activity began, the principal of the school gave the speech. He gave greetings to the loving people and introduced the situation of the school. Then they donated books to the school. To enrich children’s lives, the loving people donated 2100RMB. They also donated stationeries, toys, clothes, food and necessities of life which worth of 8000RMB. In addition, the children in the rural and urban areas were arranged to celebrate birthday together. Volunteers brought 2 birthday cakes. All children were standing around and ignited the candles. They sang birthday song together. The children were happy, “the cake is very delicious and thank uncles and aunts.” It was the first time for some of children to eat birthday cake. Their eyes were shining with tears.
Before the end of the activity, some of volunteers brought rice and gifts and visited 2 poverty-stricken households. The first one is Xiao Li. She is 8 and lives in a remote village. Now the family rent a room in Yu Jia Gou village. The family has 3 children and father does temps. Mother is mentally retarded. Grandmother takes care of 3 children. The second one they visited is Xiao Du. He 13. The family moved to Yu Jia Gou village in 2008. The family has 3. His father has to take care of his mother who had been paralyzed. His father also does field work. Life became difficult for the family. Volunteers were overwhelmed and hope they could find sponsors for the children and help them to complete their education.
