Grounded on core values of respect, love, and service to the elderly, the Xin Yue Senior Citizen Service Center of Chongqing, China, promotes social work services for senior citizens and builds harmonious living environment for them.
In order to promote exchange between social workers and volunteers and to improve the plan of voluntary service, we held a meeting in the afternoon of April 7, 2013.
We invited 19 volunteer delegates to attend the meeting, from students to enterprises. The meeting included 3 parts: introduction of voluntary work, experience sharing from volunteers and volunteers’ commendation. The participants were active to share their feelings and gains during their voluntary services in 2013. One of the volunteers shared her story and gave a bright smile when she mentioned granny Li. The audiences were moved by her smile. Before the end of the meeting, the social workers awarded certificates and gifts to volunteers.
The first page of the gift was written by elderly to the volunteers, which made the simple gifts with special meaning.
We would like to thank the staff from our organization. They are lovely bees that brought happiness to the elderly. Thank you TFish donors for your care and support for our services. Wish all the elderly happy and healthy.
